ORIGIN & DATE: Ercuis,Oise, via Paris, France, circa 1975-1990
MAKER: In 1867, local Ercuis pastor, Fr. Adrian Celeste Pillon, decided to create jobs for his unemployed parishioners by founding a silversmithing workshop specializing in liturgical wares. By the turn of the century, new owners had shifted focus to gold jewelry and fine silver for the table, and opened its flagship Paris shop. Amongst other top drawer commissions, Orfèvrerie Ercuis has supplied the Orient Express and Joël Robuchon’s L’Atelier restaurants.
