From the very popular pattern, Country, here are small 3" salt and pepper shakers from M.A. Hadley Pottery.   This series was the first created by Mary Alice Hadley in the early 1940s.  Look for her trademark cheerful cloud in the background of each of her designs.
 
Created initially for dinnerware for the Hadley houseboat on the Ohio River, Mary Alice’s friends quickly recognized the charm and whimsy of the country stoneware collection and immediately began requesting pieces for themselves.
