A pair of beautiful vintage, hand-painted Limoges porcelain salt and pepper shakers. Produced in France, these shakers boast a distinct Art Nouveau styling from the early 20th century. They feature a tapered, square-column silhouette crafted from fine white porcelain, heavily accented with bright gold gilding on the dome tops and bottom trim.

The faces are detailed with delicate, hand-painted pink floral stems with gold arches at the base. The H.B.K. stamp serves as an atelier, decorating studio, or importer's mark from the Art Nouveau era (circa 1890–1910s), validating that these pieces were uniquely hand-decorated rather than mass-produced with modern decals.

The "H.B.K." marking on the bottom signifies one of two things:

  • The Whiteware Manufacturer / Factory Mark: Limoges porcelain was unique because production was often split. One factory would form the raw "whiteware" porcelain from local kaolin clay.

  • The Decorator / Studio Initials: The blank porcelain pieces were then sent to independent porcelain-decorating studios, retailers, or professional artists who hand-painted the designs, applied the gilding, and fired them a second time.

  • 3.5"h x 1.5"w base

  • One has a cork in bottom, one plastic
